Update on shipments

Hello everyone,
First of all, we want to thank you for the feedback we’ve received regarding shipping costs. We know this is an important issue, and we have seriously considered the request to combine the shipments for this campaign with those from the previous Kickstarter.
Unfortunately, after carefully evaluating this possibility with our logistics, production, and administrative teams, we must inform you that we cannot proceed in this direction. We know you might have expected a different solution, so we want to explain in detail why we’ve reached this conclusion.
Why isn’t it possible?
- Administrative constraints: As a company policy, our projects are set by year, and administratively, it is impossible for us to move them between years.
- Warehouse dynamics: Our warehouse procedures must be completed by December 31st of each year, coinciding with the start of inventory work for the following year. For these reasons, it is impossible for us to carry over assembly and processing planned for the current year into the next.
- The risk of errors increases exponentially: Prolonged warehouse storage creates serious logistical challenges. Managing thousands of pledges assembly becomes increasingly difficult as time passes, leading to higher risks of lost packages, order confusion, and delays; a practical reality, not merely a theoretical concern.
What we have done
Kickstarter projects are largely managed by Cranio’s Communication Team.
Since this team doesn’t have all the expertise needed to address issues related to other departments, it engaged in intensive brainstorming with the administrative, logistics, and production teams. This cross-department collaboration highlighted the issues mentioned above.
The real cost of shipping
Normally, you, as backers, cover only a small part of the shipping costs.
The amounts paid for shipping from the factory to our warehouse and from our warehouse to the various fulfillment centers are absorbed and amortized by us entirely.
Here’s an important point that is often underestimated: the shipping cost is not just for your main pledge. For this campaign, as well as for Cranio’s Expansion pack, it includes the shipment of all the add-ons you ordered through the pledge manager (BackerKit), regardless of how many you added.
If you got 1 add-on, 3 add-ons, or 10 add-ons, the shipping remains the same. This is a “flat rate” shipping system that protects you as backers from increasing costs as you add products. It’s an advantage built into the model itself, even if it may not seem so at first glance when you look at the total.
Closing
We know shipping costs aren’t what you’d like, and we completely understand. But trusting us also means knowing that the decisions we make are always aimed at protecting the integrity of the project and the quality of your experience as a backer.
We continue to work hard to ensure you receive your products in the best way possible.
Thank you for your understanding and, as always, for your support.
I'll be back on monday with more XOs just waiting to be revealed!
